Folder Option Not Visible In Tools Menu

Want to change your windows folder options such as Show hidden files or Hide extensions for know file types.

But my folder options is not visible. How to make folder options visible under tools menu.

Here is the solution:

Step 1 : Goto Start Menu and Select Run otpion.

Step 2 : Type gpedit.msc in run dialog box. Group Policy dialog box will be displayed.

Step 3 : In Group Policy dialog box in the left pane select

user configuration->administrative templates->windows components->windows explorer

Step 4 : In left pane double click on "Removes the folder options menu item from the tools menu".

Step 5 : Change its setting to disabled.

Step 6 : Close the Group Policy Dialog box.

Step 7 : Check tools menu in windows explorer.

One of its own Kind: Canal Project In India

The western Indian state of Gujarat is all set to become the first state in the country to generate solar power through panels mounted on a water body. Installation of panels on the canal will help in doing away with the need to acquire land. Evaporation of lakhs of litres of water will be prevented since the canal will be covered. And will generate clean energy. Generated solar power will be supplied to villages alongside the canal, which will lead to lower transmission losses and also helping to reduce the evaporation of water.

The solar project is expected to save 100,000 litres of water a year by reducing evaporation of canal water in that particular stretch of one km. Installation of solar panels on river canals would also take care of land issue for solar power project. SunEdison, a subsidiary of US-based global solar energy player MEMC, will be executing the project near Sanand. This is for the first time such a project is being developed in India

 Google assured users of its smartphone wallets that the mobile-age technology thwarts thieves better than old-school cash or credit cards.A Google Wallet feature that lets people load prepaid card information in smartphones for spending was re-activated this week after being shut off for a few days to fix a potential security vulnerability. The action from Google came after a Zvelo Labs researcher demonstrated software that quickly figures out a Wallet personal identification number (PIN), provided the crook has the smartphone. Security specialists advise Google Wallet to enable security features such as full-disk encryption and screen locks. Google Wallet uses a near field communication chip embedded in a phone to allow a user to "tap-and-pay" for purchases at a checkout register equipped with the PayPass system from CitiMasterCard.

Now StumbleUpon redesign by removing the red"X" from its toolbar.Actually many people suggested that the removal of the close button locked you into staying on StumbleUpon and cried foul since you could no longer go directly to the original content creator’s page.

Microsoft's online store in India was hit by hackers over the weekend and is currently offline.

Visitors to microsoftstore.co.in are met with the following message: "The Microsoft Store India is currently unavailable. Microsoft is working to restore access as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

The hack, first reported by wpsauce.com and picked up by the Times of India, occurred last night. The website was replaced with an image of a hooded individual wearing a Guy Fawkes mask - the symbol of hacker collective Anonymous - with the line "Evil Shadow Team" at the bottom

Microsoft funded a study, testing the anti-spam skill of Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo Mail. Accounts were created, and ‘seeded’ across the Internet in an attempt to draw the bead of spammers. It worked. According to a New York Times article on the report, “in the Hotmail account, 48.57 percent of e-mails in the inbox were spam, slightly less than the 48.88 percent in the Gmail inbox. Yahoo Mail was third with 58.33 percent.”

Now, any normal account on the three services would have a much lower ratio. These accounts were set up to attract and filter spam, so your personal results will be different. That Hotmail won, over Gmail, in this one case, is interesting. Gmail is known for its exceptionally effective suspension of spam.Microsoft is obviously proud of its report: “if you use Hotmail for your primary email, you’ll get the best spam protection in the industry – no one does it better.” However, spam prevention is only one feature out of a dozen that determine the quality of an email system.

The situation is now official on Google’s side, as the company confirmed that several of its products have been blocked in the Iran.According to Google, Iranian users have been unable to access its encrypted search, YouTube and Gmail since February 10th. This could only be the tip of the iceberg, as several other sites have been reportedly inaccessible for the last days.

Yet, the stranglehold that Iran has on the Internet isn’t new – up to the point where local authorities are mulling plans for Iran to get ‘its own Internet.’ More generally, reports of blocked websites are far from uncommon, and it seems our own website has been inaccessible in the country since October 2011. Iran’s Mehr News Agency, Bloomberg points out that it means that more than 30 million Iranian Internet users have been unable to access e-mail accounts, including Gmail and Hotmail.

Google is going to develope 'Terminator-style' HUD goggles

Google is going to  launch hi-tech glasses with in-built computer displays.Supposition is dominant  that hi-tech "heads up display" glasses are being developed at Google's secret "Google X" lab for months.

The glasses will be armed with cameras, an Android operating system.The glasses will run a version of the California-based Google's Android.

Microsoft may ditch start button‎ in Windows 8

The start button evolved to become the operating system's 'launchpad', offering access to software, files and search functions. 

According to leaked screenshots from the tech site, The Verge, earlier test versions of Windows 8 had flattened the recognisable 'orb', but the new build removes it altogether. Microsoft's iconic start button, which was introduced in Windows 95, is likely to be removed in the software firm's upcoming Windows 8 version, according to a report. 

A thumbnail-like user interface will appear in Metro or desktop mode, providing a consistent way to access the Windows desktop and Start Screen in Windows 8 regardless of touch or mouse input," it added. Microsoft has not announced a release date for the new operating system, built to work with touchscreens as well as on conventional PCs, but it is widely expected to be released in the second half of 2012.

US shuts 16 sports piracy websites

According to the government, the 16 websites provided links to give viewers easy access to other sites that hosted pirated telecasts from the National Football League, National Basketball Association, National Hockey League, World Wrestling Entertainment Inc ("WWE") and TNA Impact Wrestling. The latter is also broadcast on Viacom Inc's Spike TV. 


16 websites that illegally streamed live sports and pay-per-view events over the internet, and charged a Michigan man with running nine of those websites. "These websites and their operators deprive sports leagues and networks of legitimate revenue" in what amounts to "virtual thievery," said US Attorney , who announced the website seizures.


The websites are firstrow.tv, firstrowsports.com, firstrowsports.net, firstrowsports.tv, hq-streams.tv, robplay.tv, soccertvlive.net, sports95.com, sports95.net, sports95.org, sportswwe.net, sportswwe.tv, sportswwe.com, xonesports.tv, youwwe.com and youwwe.net. 


As prosecutors announced the seizure on Thursday, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, expected to start in Sunday's Super Bowl against the New York Giants, admitted to reporters his own use of an illegal website. 


"Last year, you know, I was rehabbing my foot, you know, in Costa Rica, watching the game on an illegal Super Bowl website," he said in a video posted Thursday on the NFL website. "And now I'm actually playing in the game. So it's pretty cool."

Windows Phone 8 details are leaked

Details of Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 were leaked.Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at Nokia's press conference during CES. Nokia figures to play a major role in Windows Phone's resurgence.

Microsoft is still fighting an uphill battle in getting its phones,which have been critically praised--into the hands of consumers.The next big iteration of its Windows Phone platform appears to address many of the early concerns and brings it to par with competing platforms.

The platform will add support for multicore processors--at a time when Android devices are already moving to quad-core chips--four different screen resolutions, a removable microSD card, and near-field communication, crucial for mobile payments.

Windows Phone 8 will also integrate with the Windows 8 desktop and tablet operating system. The hope is developers can take chunks of their code for one platform and move it to the other. Pocketnews said the company expects 100,000 apps to be available at launch, which it pegged to the fourth quarter. Windows Phone 8 will add native code support, allowing for apps that are more integrated into the devices. Skype may also play a bigger role in the operating system.



Possibly taking a swipe at Research In Motion's shrinking share for its BlackBerrys, Microsoft is adding more business-friendly features such as encryption and allowing companies to build their own proprietary apps into the phone.
The new platform will also be designed to better handle data traffic, opting to go to Wi-Fi and using proxy servers to feed pages to Internet Explorer 10, similar to how Opera Mini can achieve faster browsing times.
